Thinking of the people who come to La Fortuna for a limited time, or who simply want to take good advantage of their time in the area, we have designed this alternative to show you the main attractive places around the volcano.
There is no doubt that our forests are one of them, therefore we will first visit “Arenal Hanging Bridges” to walk through a trail crossing the forest and bridges that allow you to see plants and trees from high above, as well as animals. If you prefer, you can change this activity to “Ecocentro Danaus”; a reserve of forest naturally regenerated and with a conservation program.
At around 11:30 we will stop at the second place of interest, “The Waterfall”, famous for its height of 60 meters. There you can freshen up in its very cool waters and take pictures of its beauty.
At 1:30 pm, it is lunchtime. We will stop at some nice restaurant in the town of La Fortuna with 5 choices “a la carte”. Later on, at around 3:30 pm we will head towards the Arenal Volcano Park and do a hike on the trail called “Lava slides” and then get to the safest possible place near the volcano. From there the view of the Arenal Lake will be impressive, as well as the ones from the secondary forest, the areas devastated by old eruptions plus the fumaroles activity of the volcano the day were with clear skies.
At night time we will have our last stop, the hot springs. At the time of getting this tour, you will have the option of 5 different places, according to your taste, and dinner will be included if you wish.
We will allow you to stay at the springs from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, to enjoy it on your own, and then we will take you to your hotel.
What you’ll need to bring: Hiking shoes or sneakers, comfortable clothing, raincoat, insect repellent, bathing suit, and towel (given the case of those going to the hot water springs)

On this trail of 3.1 kilometers, you will go through impressive bridges, some of them suspended over the forest. The bridges have different lengths and heights. They were made with the intention of assessing the flora and fauna from a different perspective since you go through different levels of the forest.
LA FORTUNA WATERFALL HIKE DOWN AND UPHILL
To start we will cross a suspension bridge and then we will begin the descent of 420 steps through charming places and surrounded by a very dense forest. Upon reaching the base of the waterfall, you can bathe in the refreshing waters of the river or simply take pictures with your companions.
