This is one of the most amazing places in Costa Rica, without a doubt. Magnificent turquoise blue waters together with all the nature that surrounds it make Rio Celeste a place to admire.
Located at the skirts of the Tenorio Volcano, this river, unique in the country, astounds its visitors with its beauty. A circuit trail of 4 miles starting from “El Pilon” National Park Station, will take us along the forest, going through places of interest as are the “Teñideros” or dyers, which are the places where the river acquires this different color because of a chemical reaction. Besides that, we will visit “Las Ollas” which are fumaroles filled with mud and we will also go to a hot water spring.
Further, ahead we will find a waterfall of turquoise color which is the climax of our visit. On our way back we will keep walking along the riverside while enjoying the bubbling water and its natural surroundings.
